[comp.sys.amiga] 8520 chips

Since you found your problem to be with the 8520 chips, I thought I might
ask you for a little help. I have an A-Max and and a *real* (as opposed to a
compatible) Mac drive. The drive wont work. When I put a disk in the drive
it simply locks up as if it can't get enough power to turn the disk drive.
The drive connects to the A-Max cartridge which in turn is plugged into the
external disk drive port on my B2000 rev 4.3. In the read-me file on the
A-Max disk it says drive Mac drive problems could be the result of bad CIA
chips in ol' Amy. Is the 8520 chip called the CIA chip. I tried the same
A-Max setup on another B2000 and all works fine. It seems as if the power
line on the 8520 is bad and can't get the voltage out to the drive but I'm not
sure. Any ideas? And as above, do you know if the 8520's are called the CIA
chips? Thanks for any help.
