I'm experiencing a very strange problem with CShell 3.03A, the ARPed version of Matt's old Csh-like shell for the Amiga. In the docs, it claims that the CShell-built-in "resident" makes use of the ARP resident list. Well, when I type 'resident' to the CShell, asking it to display the list, I get a set of lines resembling: Name Usage ----- ------ 0 0 0 0 ...which corresponds neatly with the 4 programs I have resident (newcli, endcli, csh, and more); however, the names are [obviously] blank, and the CShell ignores the resident versions of the commands, even AFTER I execute them once to get the ARP "load-on-demand". I am utterly baffled. I would attempt to recompile, fearing that perhaps something in the CShell that worked on ARP 1.1/1.2 may have broken on 1.3, but I lack the proper include files for MANX C. Anyone who can help, either by sending include files (arpbase.h and related stuff for ARP 1.3, MANX 3.40a), or by suggesting a fix, PLEASE e-mail to the address in the header. I'll summarise in a later posting. Thanks very much. Karl Thiessen -- 128a-2ex@web.berkeley.edu -- never enough time to do magic
