[comp.sys.amiga] suggestion

jdp@caleb.UUCP (Jim Pritchett) (08/07/89)

Since I've been reading USENET (about 2 years or so), I've noticed that the
Amiga newsgroups tend to repeat certain tangential topics every quarter or two.
An incomplete list would include the always noisy, but rarely enlightening:

     1. Piracy arguments

     2. MCIBTYC (my computer is better than your computer) wars

     3. and lately, the "You can't buy it for cost of materials" arguments

I've probably omitted some topics, but you get the drift.

What I suggest is that some short descriptions of these topics to the "new reader"
postings along with a strong request that these subjects be avoided as much as
possible. Possibly, a pointer to comp.risks or comp.misc or ??? might be
appropriate. It probably wouldn't eliminate the problem, but it might help.
(Is this already there?)
