I'm looking into doing some work with Bill Barton's midi.library. My
primary goal at the moment is sysex-type work (e.g., patch editors,
librarians, etc.) I have a few questions for anyone that has had some
hands-on experience with it:
1) The docs mention that the serial.device has problems with large sysex
dumps, as in it loses bytes. Since I plan to be doing most of my work
large sysex dumps, this concerns me. Does anyone have data on what
sorts of problems I can expect to experience. How large a dump can
be handled before bytes start falling on the floor? I am looking at
dumps of approximately 16K. Do I even have a chance?
2) I have version 2.0. Is this the latest?
3) The docs frequently mention "MIDI patch bay" programs. Did anyone
ever actually write such a program?
Thanks...
