I purchased a new modem cable a few days ago. I got a standard IBM XT modem cable. I got a new one because my old one (serious cludge) as getting worn out and it was acting up. Specifically, it wouldn't hang up. I ould have to turn off the modem to get a dial tone back. My new cable is doing the exact same thing. I suspect that this is due to non-standard lines on the Amiga serial port. Does anyone have any advice? /* F. In general, if the modem can transmit and receive, it should have no problems at all (I am assuming a hayes compatible modem). Getting it to hang up is simply a matter of sending the Characters 'ATH' which are no different from any other characters the modem receives. If this is not working, I'd be more likely to suspect a relay or something of that sort. Internal to the modem, at any rate. Can anyone imagine how the situation would be otherwise? -- Mark Vange Phone Death Threats to: Vanguard Distributing (416) 730-1352 mark@xrtll 8 Everingham Ct.
