[comp.sys.amiga] Ftp sites with SMUS music files and IFF pictures

kuan@iris.ucdavis.edu (Francois Kuan) (08/15/89)

Does anyone know any FTP sites that have SMUS music files, DMCS music
files, and IFF pictures? I know some Fred Fish disks have some, but
I'm hoping to discover something with hordes of just IFF stuff.
There aren't any large Amiga BBS's around here, so I'd appreciate any
pointers from people who know where to look for this stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Well, we've got a few IFF's floating around on our anon. ftp site, nothing
that isn't from a Fish disk or Amicus disk, though. I will try to collect
a few of the IFF pics from our local BBS here and place them there as well.
In addition, we've got a horde of Sun rasters floating around. If you get
the FBM package, you can translate them all into 256-color HAM pics.
The pictures don't end up being too bad translated this way, although some
are previously translated rasters from HAM pics that I downloaded to make
them accessible to graphics buffs. One thing, though, seems like most of
the IFF pics on our BBS are rated PG (mild nudity, breasts, etc.), R (
showing everything but the genitals), X (you can guess) and XX (sex scenes),
which I wouldn't feel right about posting (sorry, but those are my feelings).
So, aside from a few killer HAM paintings of a D&D type nature, there's not
that much available. Anon. ftp to geomag.gly.fsu.edu (128.186.10.2) and look
  in pub/pics/IFFpics. Happy viewing.
