To acquaint those who might not recall, a couple of weeks ago I inquired of the people of the net for help. Lacie Smith, a two year old girl in Milburn, Oklahoma, is allergic to all foods except human breast milk. In addition, Lacie's mother cannot breast feed the girl due to medical conditions of her own. The response to my initial inquiry was gratifying and several new donors have been located for Lacie. If you responded to me and haven't heard from me - either by electronic mail or by phone - please send me another piece of mail or call me (8:30 - 5:00 EST) at the number below - I've tried to get back to everyone who contacted me. If you didn't respond, you can still help: 1) if you are a lactating woman, you can be a donor of breastmilk for Lacie 2) if you can provide transportation of donated milk to airports from donors, that too is needed 3) if you wish to help by a monetary donation, it will be tax deductable and can be sent to defray milk shipping costs and medical bills. Donations can be sent to: Phyllis Smith Box 411 Milburn, Oklahoma 73450 Again, I urge you to help in anyway you can. Lacie will be getting her nutrition from donated breastmilk - and nothing else - for at least another year. Right now, she is up to between 150 and 200 ounces of breastmilk each day.
