Over the last couple of days a couple of programs on my Hard Disk
( 40 M split 25 M for my amiga and 15 M for the ibm ( bridgeboard ))
have been having trouble locating default files when started from the
workbench.
One such program is JRcomm. When started from the Workbench it seems
unable to load the files jrcomm.def, jrcomm.phones, and jrcomm.macros.
Simcity is another trouble spot ... The game only gurus when I try to
start a saved game by clicking on the cityfile. In both cases, however,
I AM able to load the mail program, and then load the required default
files afterwards ( hope this makes sense to you all out there ).
Anyways, I'm wondering whether this might be a sign of an overcrowded
or over fragmented hard disk ( both sides of it ( ibm and amiga ) are over 83 % full , and MANY different
programs / utilities have been copied to and erased from this hard disk ).
The hard disk was last formatted about 8 months ago, and has seen heavy
use since then ...
Any ideas ?? Should I be formatting it once a year in any case ??
