Last weekend, I addad a second SCSI drive to my Amiga 2000. It uses a A2090 controller that I brought in Febuary 1988. Prep didn't want to work with a second SCSI dirve (dh3:). Since the new drive was 140meg I change the device addresses on the two drives and PREPed and formatted the new drive. I decided to run DiskPerf and got a read/write error after getting the results for 32k read/writes. It turn out to be a bad link. I copied a partation form my dh0: (MiniScribe 3650) to the new disk, and reformatted it. I then ran DiskPerf again with the same results, a read/write error. A friend who had been helping me set up the new drive called and gave me his results of DiskPref on his setup with a C-Ltd controller. Now how could DiskPref be causing a read/write error. DiskPref also used up all my ram on the ram test. I have 2 meg fast, 1meg chip ram. I check with another friend who had a 2090x controller and we compared sizes of hddisk. They were different. I got the newer driver and it not only cleared up the the disk read/write errors, DiskPref completed, but also alowed mounting of the second SCSI. Therefore it was a happy ending. NOW for the FLAME Commodore needs to update users for the 2090x drivers, prep etc. It would be nice to be notified when changes are made and told how to get them. This goes for 1.3.1 also. I would also like to find out what the changes fixed so that one can determine how important getting the update is. FLAME off Regards, Dak
