[net.general] Want user reports on Refer

We are contemplating using Refer(1) as a basis for several bibliography
projects in the humanities.  These would necessitate some programming
to go beyond what the software presently offers, but would build on the
existing structures.  Therefore we are interested in knowing of any
other bibliography projects based on Refer or, in fact, on any other
UN*X software.

If you used Refer, how would you rate it? Did you run up against any
limitations (size, complexity, throughput, etc) of the software? What
advice would you give people starting new projects using Refer?
