PaNorAmA, the Pacific Northwest Amiga Association is proud to announce that a very special guest will appear and speak at our general meeting in September. Most Amiga owners are familiar with Jay Miner, the designer of the three custom graphic and sound chips that makes the Amiga one of the formost graphic computers in the home computer market. Jay is a master of silicon, having designed much of the Atari VCS and the Atari 400 and 800 computers. The Amiga's custom chip set owes much to Jay's earlier work for Atari, while representing a quantum leap in capability over those earlier machines. His accomplishments do not stop there, however, for Jay was in charge of the entire hardware design team while with Amiga, and proved his managerial skills by directing and channeling the varied and sometimes zany creative energies of the Amiga design team. Come on out and hear about the early days of the Amiga, the Amiga team, and the design considerations of the machine. Members and non members alike are welcome to attend this special evening with Jay Miner, 'The father of the Amiga'. The meeting will be held on Sept 13, 1989, at 7:30 PM, in room 129 at BCIT. ------------------------------------------------------ P.S.
