These questions may have been asked and answered many times before. But we've just started receiving c.s.a + I haven't seen anything in a.c.a, so please bear with me. What is the 'best' way to speed up an A2000's floating point processing ?. I'm talking about speeding up ray-traces, not windows opening etc. Now I know (though not in any detail) that there are boards with i) 14Mhz 68000 + 68881 ii) 68010 + 68881 iii) 68020 + 68881/2 iv) 68020 + 68881/2 + 32bit memory v) 68030 + 68881/2 vi) 68030 + 68881/2 + 32bit memory [(v) and (vi) will remain out of my budget till 1999 :-)] Can anyone tell me the boards, their cost, speed improvements (in real applications), compatibility with S/W, H/W. What library support is already available ? I know that Turbo Silver comes with a FP version; don't know about other programmes. Is the 68881 really meant for 68000/10's ? How do these boards work then ? Is there a 68881-only board for the 2000 ? What other issues are involved here ? thanks ganga. PS: By 'best' I mean a 'price-performance-hassle' index that I like. I can only decide that after I see some replies. So, I'll let you decide what is 'best' :-)
