Otto J. Makela at tukki.jyu.fi asks:

" I am looking for the following archievers:

"

Sheesh. I was just on his system, and he's got the ZOO right there for him
to use in pub/amiga/util. For example (on tukki.jyu.fi):

ftp> dir pub/amiga/util/zoo*
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
-rw-r--r-x 1 643 other 41428 Jan 19 1989 zoo
-rw-r--r-x 1 643 other 67293 Jan 19 1989 zoo200.zoo

The sources for the UNIX and Mac versions of ZOO are available at cs.utah.edu
per:

ftp> dir pub
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
-rw-r--r-- 1 anon notlogin 198701 Feb 7 1989 zoo201.tar.Z

I knew it. Even when preparing simple messages with simple requests like this,
I can screw it up. What I should have said was:
	* executables for Zoo (Dhesi) for Macintosh
	* executables for Zip (Katz) version 1.01 compatible for Mac and Amiga
	* sources for Zip version 1.01 compatible for Unix BSD/SysV

I already have had the Amiga Zoo for quite a while (I did know it was there,
thank you) and now I also have PKZIP 0.92 compatible for the Mac. I'm trying
to trace zoo for the Mac down.
Still, it looks like many of the other items I have asked for are well-nigh
non-existant as of yet. S. Smith's BBS (he's the guy who wrote the sourceware
unzipper for pc/unix) is always busy, so I'm unable to check there for the
new PKZIP 1.01 compatible version.

Re: Otto J. Makela's quest for software ...

'Sfunny how how can be looking for something that's right under one's nose! :-)

I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many times I've bought the same record, CD
or book twice (or thrice), or downloaded the same file more than once, simply
due to the sheer volume of material and one's forgetting what one already has.

PORTAL has several GB of online archives for Amiga, Mac, PC, and UNIX, and I'll
see if if can find the:
	* executables for Zoo (Dhesi) for Macintosh
	* executables for Zip (Katz) version 1.01 compatible for Mac and Amiga
	* sources for Zip version 1.01 compatible for Unix BSD/SysV
and email it/them to Otto.
