Can anybody out there (probably somebody at Gallaudet) tell me if it is possible to use my Amiga and 1200 baud modem as a TDD? I am completely ignorant of the binary format of the information, but I am told that it is not ASCII. Is there software available which can use a standard modem or do I perhaps need special hardware? Bell 212A equipment will not connect with TDD. TDD doesn't use a carrier and runs at about 60 baud (1 character per symbol, i think) Anyway, to answer bluntly... No software will get your 1200 baud modem to act like a TDD terminal. You might try the sound synthesizer and a sampler though. --ss sullivan@cup.portal.com
