[comp.sys.amiga] Usenix Facesaver / Amiga

dan@modcomp.UUCP (08/28/89)

I'm interested in finding Amiga software that displays the digitized
faces from the Usenix Facesaver program.

Any information will be appreciated.

I wrote a program this spring that takes the old Facesaver pictures and turns
them into 4-bit grayscale ILBM files. From this you can use most anything
IFF show program to display them. If anyone is interested it should be a
quick hack to get it to work with the newer format (and the older ones too)
used for B'more this past June. I guess I could have written an 8-bit ILBM
file (to preserve the original data) but very few if any show programs could
handle it. Right now I'm just chopping off the lower four bits. Anyone
interested?

What is this Facesaver program, and where can I obtain it?

Thanks,
