Hi net...

A friend of mine just got a new 2000HD and we wanted to transfer some
stuff from my hard disk to his. I'm looking for suggestions on how to
do so. Both amigas have st506 drives with the a2090(a) controller card.

Here's what I've come up with:

1. Remove one of the hard drives and connect both to one amiga. The
problem is that this requires a special daisy-chain cable which we
haven't been able to find, yet.

2. Connect the amigas via the serial port and transfer the files.
The questions I have about this are first, what software do I need to
have on the amiga which is SENDING the data? I figure I can run some
telecommunications program with an xmodem or zmodem on the receiving end
(I have vt100 and AZcomm); will running the same thing at the other end
sync up okay? Or do I need some sort of a "Server" program like a BBS?
Second, it would be nice to be able to either use wildcards or set up a
script to run the whole thing unattended.

3. transfer with floppies. This is easy but obviously quite slow.

thanks for any suggestions! EMAIL would be appreciated as I tend to get
it much faster than comp.sys.amiga. If it bounces back, try the second
address (our server machine has been having hardware trouble lately...)

thanks!!
