I saw Stanley Jordan at a small neighborhood festival here in Madison, WI in 1982. Nobody knew who he was, but he completely blew my socks off! He plays music of fantastic complexity and moves his hands like a virtuoso concert pianist over the guitar strings, but also takes advantage of the tones and textures that an electric guitar can offer. It is not really possible to compare him to the other guitarists discussed in net.music because his technique is so different. At the time I saw him, I immediately got a recording of his first album, "Touch Sensitive". I believe "Magic Touch" is the second album he has produced, though there may have been one in between. If you haven't heard him, he is a unique experience. -Greg Brewster "Dancing madly backwards ... Dancing on a sea of air" - Captain Beyond
