I would like to get some information about the Amiga line. I am getting interested in the machine and can't seem to get the answers to my questions from browsing thru the magazines or reading the news on the net. So, I thought I would go out on a limb and ask them outright. 1) What different types (models) are available? 2) What processor is in each? Difference in memory ...etc? 3) What is the maximum expandablity of each? (by this I mean can the lowest model have additions to it that make it the same computing power as the next step up machine or even the top of the line) 4) Is there any software incompatibilites between the different types? 5) What is the price of each of the types? (price without options and price with the options you can't do without). 6) Is there a version of Unix available or in the works for the Amiga? If so what type will it run on? Will it have a graphical front end? 7) The basic grade monitor that is available, can someone say what its equivilant would be in the IBM DOS world (CGA, EGA, VGA, Multisync)? (I am assuming that it is color). I have seen that there is a X11R3 version for the Amiga, which in my opinion makes the Amiga a very good candidate for a X workstation. I think that it would be a heck of a lot better than getting a X terminal, since the Amiga can be extended. This could be a path for the Amiga to make it in the big business market. Please email me the responses since most people who read this newsgroup probably already knows the answers.
