At the request of the author I am posting the following measage concerning the release of a new version of the commerical hard disk backup utility, ExpressCopy. If it is againt your religion to read commercial posts, press 'n' now. :-) -------------------------Cut here--------------------(D**n, missed!)-------- Express-Way Software, Inc. is now shipping Version 1.10 of ExpressCopy. A summary of the major changes are listed below. Registered owners of ExpressCopy can obtain the update by sending a check or money order for $5 US to ExpressWay Software, Inc. There is now a BBS for providing technical support at (314) 474-2984 from 7PM-7AM CST weekdays, and all day on weekends. 1. ExpressCopy is now much more intelligent in how files are copied to your backup disks. Backup disks are now filled on average to >99% full reducing the number of backup disks needed to the bare minimum and still maintain standard DOS disks. ExpressCopy now makes sure that Icon files are copied to the same backup disk as its associated Directory or File so that the backup disks can be used normally from WorkBench. The organization of files on backup disks is now optimized to speed up file restoration and improve WorkBench performance. 2. You can now select whether you want ExpressCopy to ask if you want to OverWrite any DOS disks that you insert. 3. You can now do FileName pattern matching for files you want to EXCLUDE from being backed up to floppy. 4. Previous versions of ExpressCopy were incompatible with some floppy disk drives. This was exhibited in one of two ways; either giving a significant number of VERIFY errors during backup, or, corrupting a track on the floppy somehow after writing and verifying the track. This problem has been fixed, and ExpressCopy should have no problems writing/verifying the backup disks unless you indeed have a BAD disk. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. 5. The programs XCO and XCR now open their own Screen for their Intuition Interface. 6. A new program called ArchProt is included. ArchProt can be used from the CLI to list files for which the Archive Bit is not set, and to clear or set the Archive Bit for files in a directory.
