Say, does anyone use the Amiga for MIDI and other music applications? If so, please send me some comparative info on the MIDI interfaces you use and why you prefered it over brand Y. Same for MIDI sequencers. Any info, commercial or shareware software, tips on good magazine reviews, etc. would be appreciated. Since I am a beginner at keyboards and music, I would also like to find instructional software and automatic rythym and accompaniment packages. (I bought a Roland D5 because its the cheapest, but fully functional MIDI, with a velocity-sensitive keyboard I could find. I hope the auto features of the CASIO lookalikes would be available in Amiga software.) I seem to have found 5 different MIDI sequencer packages. 1) Dr. T's KCS, MRS, Level II, etc. (and its strip_performance_and_sell_at_cheaper_price_cousins.) 2) Pro MIDI studio 3) Dynamic Studio 4) Texture 5) Music-X Any others. I don't really want to shell out the $200 to $300 for something overpowerful, dissapointing, or buggy. At present, I don't really want the Dr. T's stuff because of its non-Amiga user interface style and keydisk copy protection. (I have a hard disk to get away from floppies. I don't need the hassle.) Unfortunately, Dr. T's is the only one I found with fully integrated options like editor/librarians and auto rythym stuff (Dr. Keys and Dr. Drums). An editor/librarian is not being considered now, but it would be nice to know if its possible to upgade to a compatible version with the sequencer I get today. -- ---------- Lawrence W.
