Well, I seem to have gotten on to the Relay after everybody was told how to get these neptune pictures. I've heard something about FTP sites and the like, but I don't even know what that is (I'm just a lowly psych student). Here is what I DO know: I've got a bitnet account. I can also get onto f.ms.uky.edu, but it asks me to login and won't let me on. please help!!! I'm dying to see these pictures! JALLE@MSSTATE.BITNET $eof

As a rule, people with BITNET accounts cannot access FTPable accounts. This is because BITNET and FTP sites (located on EDU networks) are linked via a priority 4 connection (only suitable for MAIL transfer) FTP requires a priority 3 link. So, unless your BITNET site happens to also be an INTERNET site, like UMCVMB for example (that is a place where BITNET and EDU are linked) then you cannot access FTP sites. This was explained to me last year when I asked the same question. |============================================================================| | "The man who dropped a 3270 terminal on his foot... | | | | ... and lived to tell about it..." | | | | DENNIS GORRIE (GORRIEDE AT UREGINA1.BITNET) | |============================================================================|
