I have some black and white frames representing successive iterations of an algorithm I've been playing with for a while. I'd like to paste these together into an `animation', with the final result being videotape or 8-mm or something else that's likely to be easily transportable and easily projected onto a large screen. I've already done the animation on a Sun 3/50 using someone's program called `movie' (uncharacteristically descriptive), but I can't think of any convenient way of getting this recorded. Of course, the Amiga came to mind as a likely way to get this done. The images I have now are 256x256, and that's what I'd like to have, but I can adjust if necessary. I have an Amiga 2000, 3M memory, 50M hard drive, and a fairly vanilla VCR. The minimum number of frames I need is 60, but I'd probably like to be able to handle at least 700. Also, either the frame display rate needs to be fairly slow, or I'll have to duplicate frames to effectively slow things down (but that means more frames). I can't spend much money on this, but I might be able to borrow equipment from somewhere around the University, so suggest whatever comes to mind. Free software and my hardware is the answer I want to hear, of course.
