If it was the DeskJet cable, you probably did fry a CIA (I gather that's what you meant). Likewise, if it was the serial cable, it will probbaly be a CIA. Better, if you suspect a CIA, you can swap the two in your 500. Problem in my A500 parallel port, as a result of plugging a cable in, while both it and my DeskJet were on. Is it likely that I fried a specific chip (CIS ?) and if so, can I perform swaps with a friends A2000, until the chip is found. In the Sept. issue of the Transactor for the Amiga, there is a company which is adveritsing the resale of the custom chips for the Amiga. Included were Gary, Paula, F. Agnus, Denise, and a host of other chips that I do not recall. If I had my TA with me I would provide the vendor name and address, but alas I don't. Good luck,
