I am having problems locating a good printer driver for the Raven
PR-2417. This printer is made by Roland Digital Group. It is a 24 pin
printer.
I have tryed the EpsonQ driver that comes with WorkBench V1.3.
This works fine with text, but with graphics it is a DOG. It takes about
twice as long to print, compared to my old 9 pin, and has the same output
quality. I believe the reason for this is and quote "In this mode the
printer cannot print two consecutive dots in a row. It is recommended that
you use this density for black-and-white, shade dumps." This is refering to
the highest resolution that can be obtained with this driver, 360 x 180.
I have phoned Roland here in Vancouver and they said they do not
have any printer drivers for the Amiga. I phoned CBM in Toronto and they
took in all I had to say and said they will look into it and will get back
to me. This was about 2 weeks ago.
I am now apealing to anyone on the net that has a 24 pin Epson
LQ2500 printer driver. Could you please email me the driver?
The printer driver that comes with WordPerfect works great, but it is
just for that program and I can not do anything about that. I would like to do
graphic dumps that are better than my old 9 pin printer!
