I am having memory problems when trying to run Dpnt III and PD versions of NoClick2 and Dmouse (V1.10). My system is an Amiga 2000 with 3MB, an 80MB hard drive and a fat Agnus chip. The problem is this: I added both these PD programs to my startup-sequence. Now when I try to run DPaint it says I have no memory. The available memory shown is correct (on the memory screen of DPaint) however the Max Blocks available is incredibly low. It shows 1810152 Fast Ram available, but 168 Max Blocks Fast Ram available. The really quirky thing is that every time I reboot the system the Max Blocks Fast Ram CHANGES. One time I booted it was 168, the next 936, the next 128, the next 1904. This is booting and starting up the program exactly the same every time. I tried each of the PD programs in the startup-sequence separately to see if it was a particular one that was causing the problem. It isn't. With either one or the other of DMouse or NoClick2 commented out, DPaint III works fine. But only with both of them running does it flake out like this. Obviously with this problem I can only work on small lo-res pictures. I was only able to load 20 frames of a lo-res 3 bitplane anim, where I can usually load over 150 frames! Does anyone have any suggestions? I called Electronic Arts and they were much less than helpful. Their only response was a terse and recited "As long as our program works when it is booted from the original disk, with the original workbench, then we cannot help you. We are not responsible for any other configurations." They could offer no suggestions at all. Thanks alot EOA!!! I would appreciate any input on the matter. Thanks. - Sean Schur
