[comp.sys.amiga] Memory Board Recommendations for 2000 sought

eve@ssc-vax.UUCP (Michael Eve) (09/30/89)

Now that memory prices are so low ( I saw a quote for 1Mx1 for
$9.35 each from Chip Merchants), upgrading my 2000 is now
	financially, maybe even politically, possible.

Can someone mail me recommendations and prices for memory boards?
I suspect a bare, socketed board should be around $150 making
a 2meg board 299.60 if I stuff the board with the above chips.

I've heard about problems with some of the boards, and am willing
to pay extra for a better board. A 68020 or 68030 upgrade may
be done in a year or so. I also have a GVP controller/Quantum
	harddrive (no stiction yet!).

Thanks. I trust the collective experience of the net more than
	my local dealer.

And can someone mail me a list of RAM suppliers (I don't subscribe to BYTE).

Same here, especially the Supra, since that seems to be what is most available
around here.

I believe one problem is the 8-UP with the Rev 6 motherboard.

Same here. 1/2 :-)

I'm going to buy an A2000 this week, so I'd like to hear from you
net.experts as soon as possible.

Thanks!
