I am currently working on software for an X10 BSR system. I need to know how to access the serial port on the Amiga and want to know what manual(s) I should purchase to give me this information. I currently have both of the Sybex/ Mortimer books and also the Wait Group's book. The 2nd edition Mortimer book seems to have everything I need but has absolutely no examples, which are what I would really like. Also, can the ROM Kernel manuals be purchased directly from Commodore? If Alex Orgill at Commodore Canada is reading, please reply to this as I have been unable to send you email. Finally, is there a terminal program with source code that would serve as a good example for me? ------------------------ -Alan McKay

A request was posted asking for info on talking to the serial port to access the X10 controller from BSR. There are at present two programs for the Amiga that will control the X10 directly. These may save you some work. One was written in AmigaBasic several years ago. I have been using it for that long and it works well. About 6 months ago someone else wrote some C code to do the same. The interface is not as nice but is sufficient. Both are on Genie in the X10 RT library.
