Take a look at hp-pcd.688 and hp-pcd.689 -- The addresses are: ...!hp-pcd!kirk\!russ The articles are from notesfiles, most probably explaining why the address doesn't match the Article-I.D. (or it may just be a very poor attempt at forgery), but why are the backslashes in there? I have not tried responding back along that path.

The backslashes are there because of csh; csh tries to intrepret backslashes in its history list.
