A friend would like to be able to network A500s to a central A2000 if possible, using the A2000 has a kind of file server. He asked me if I knew of anything that would allow that and I said I would check around. I know Ameristar puts out an ethernet board for the A2000, but when I talked with them the first part of this year they had no plans to produce an A500 version. Has this situation changed? I also understood at that time that they did not have peer to peer (sp?) capability, again has this been addressed yet? The only other options that I could come up with was to outfit the A2000 with multiple serial ports and use dnet and NET:. Which BTW are running on amigash and slhamiga quite nicely! (thanks Matt! Now I need to get a second serial port so I can keep the modem connected.) From reading the docs I believe the serial port can be specified but I am not sure if it will support multiple ports simultaneously. The other item was another program called NET: discussed here on the net which used the parallel port instead of the serial port. Did this allow for multiple systems to be networked and what is the current status of that project? If possible please direct responses to the email address below. While I get ALL the amiga groups I sometimes run a few weeks behind in processing it all. :-) Thanks! -- _ /// /_\ Scot L.
