I was in a dealer's yesterday, and he had an A590 there. He also had a
screw-driver, so we looked inside :-)
I noted that it has what I presume is an ST506 interface, but also a
SCSI. The dealer would like some answers to the questions he expects to
get, so I'm trying here.
1. Can you install a 40M+ ST506 ? I can't see why not - it doesn't need
to be partitioned like on MESS-DROSS where you need a controller that
will cope with partitions.
2. Are there any hassles with the SCSI - is it just like the A2090a ?
3. The big one - can you run both ST506 AND SCSI at the same time
(subject to the physical mounting, of course).
4. Any others you can think of.
One thing I noticed was the extremely cheap memory chip sockets -
tinned, with single-sided contacts, contacts on the INSIDE face. I
wouldn't be caught using such rubbish, even if I had to pay for them :-)
Public replies preferred, it gets the flames going better.
