Hello! I'm looking to get a new but cheap printer, and I am polling for
comments. Please e-mail me, I will post a summary if there is any interest.
I would appreciate specific comments and recommendations, either for or
against any and all particular models of printers.
My criteria are, in direct order of importance :
1) Low Price = less than $350.00. This is REAL important.
2) Has an amiga driver = I am terrible at improvising, and if there isn't
a driver out there (PD or "official") I'm stuck.
3) Letter Quality = required, this is for magazine submissions
4) Reliability = it shouldn't break alot :-)
5) Lifetime = Should last many years before dying (connects with 4, above)
6) Easy to get ink cartridges, etc. = not really important, but nice
7) A quicker non-LQ mode = apparently, this isn't standard on some printers
8) Speed = this is last, I don't really care how slow it is. At present,
the printer I use takes about a half a day to get output (counting time
to bike to it!)
ALL comments welcome, send them to me at antunes@astro.psu.edu (if you have
problems reaching me on email, try antunes%astro.psu.edu@endor.harvard.edu)
Thanks, one and all! If you want to see the results, feel free to email me!
