The shar files from comp.amiga.binaries (and the kilowatt archives) create uuencoded files (.zuu usually). The first line in these files is "begin " followed by what I think is a line count and a filename. Why is that line there? I have written a uudecode routine following instructions posted here some time ago. My question is: do all uuencoded files have such a first line??? Should I modify my uudecode routine to ignore this line, or use the line count and filename? Zoo and Arc are complaining about the uudecoded bytes this line generates in front of the output files. I know how to fix that (but it's annoying). Thanks for your patience with a naive question. Please respond via e-mail (to {...}!uunet!pyrdc!isi - I have had problems getting my mail). -- Mark Bailey (I didn't really say this.) via: ...!uunet!pyrdc!isi!mark ------Have a 8-| day!!!!!
