I have had my 2000 since it first came out. Rather than pay the prices CBM and Supra were asking for hard drives at the time, I bought the A2088 Bridgeboard and a Seagate ST-138 with an Adaptec controller. This was just fine but it has become more and more flaky with time. This morning I turned on my computer and got series of error messages ("Invalid key" "read/write error" "Not a DOS disk", etc.) and I couldn't even get it to format past cylinder 115 out of 414. I have decided to scrap it and get an Amiga hard drive so I won't have to deal with all the problems I've been having. I am thinking of a SCSI controller/drive but I'm not sure. I am looking for peoples' experiences and suggestions. I would like to get a 30 or 40 meg. drive but I don't have an inexhaustible supply of money. Also, does are there any removable cartridge drives out there anywhere for the Amiga? Please email so as not to bore the net. Thanks, Jon -- _____________________________________________________________________________ |Jon Granrose | ARPA: odin@ucscb.UCSC.EDU |CIS: 74036,3241| // Only | |Cowell College, UCSC | UUCP: ...!ucbvax!ucscc!ucscb!odin |\X/ Amiga!| |Santa Cruz, CA 95064 |Bitnet: odin%ucscb.ucsc.edu@cunyvm.bitnet ~~~~~~~~~~| |"A mind is a terrible thing"|"Remember, no matter where you go there you are"| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
