That's not a very good feature :-( In the future, when we have A2500s with
A2386s (maybe 2000s with A2088T) it may be nice to use the internal floppy
as a 1.44 meg B: drive. I don't think the current 880k (720) will do this,
so it needs replacement. Then this drive should work like an old 880k drive
*and* offer a 1.44 (maybe: 1760k :-) mode. Now you can use some hardware switch
to enable the Bridge to use it (after PC-Hard). But you will also be able
to read/write 1.44 from AmigaDOS, using programs like CrossDOS.
The floppy controller needs to support all these nice things. It may be a
short time before ECS/1.4 comes out, but maybe it can be done.
SuperDrive ?!? No......

If anyone remembers the "floptical" drive that was announced last year
(by Insight )I have a bit of news from them. They held up production trying
to get this 20 meg 3 1/2 removable cartridge drive to read and write to
standard 880/720K disks. It seems that they have succeded! I plan on checking
them out next month at Comdex. If this is true, you can keep those 1.4 meg
drives, the floptical will do the work of two drives in one slot.
