[comp.sys.amiga] SetCPU wipes out Path

evgabb@sdrc.UUCP (rob gabbard) (10/20/89)

I've just started the SetCPU utility on my A2500. I've got the following
in my boot:s/startup-sequence:

SetCPU FASTROM CARDROM <path to card rom file>

It seems to work OK except that the Path command that I also have in
there doesn't work :-( Any shells I start up have the default path.

Will I have to add the path to my shell-startup file to use SetCPU and why ?

Apparently in some setups, the change SetCPU makes to the ROM to display
"Fastbench" instead of "Workbench" causes the path to get lost. This never
happens on either of my systems, so I'm at a loss to explain just what's
at work here. However, the simple workaround is to run without the patches
installed:

SetCPU NOPATCH FASTROM CARDROM <path to card rom file>

That should take care of any path-loss problems.
