[comp.sys.amiga] Installing PDC

don@vax1.acs.udel.EDU (Donald R Lloyd) (10/26/89)

I fpt'd PDC not long ago, don't remember from which site, but I'm
having some problems with it. I have very little expeience programming in C,
(i.e. 3 or 4 short programs from an introductory course last summer), but I
like the language and would like some practice at it (as well as learning the
ins and outs of programming on the Amiga). Since I can't see blowing
hundreds of dollars I don't have on a commercial compiler just for something
to (initially) fool around with in my spare time, I'd like to get PDC up &
working. I know there's a mailing list for it, but I don't think I can get
on it until I register & send in the fee/donation/whatever, which I'm not
going to do until I'm sure I can get it to work.
Anyway, I've installed everything in the appropriate directories on my
hard drive, put the proper assigns in my startup-sequence, etc. But for some
reason the Amiga.lib library was not on the disk, and when I try to make it
using the sources in lib/src I keep getting errors. I've also tried running
make on the samples included on the disk, and they seem to compile fine, with
no errors, etc..... but one problem : the .o and executable files don't show up
anywhere. It executes the makefile without giving me an error, but it doesn't
seem to actually DO anything!
Can anybody help me get this thing installed and running?
