I must of watched a different game (Bills over Rams - great finish)...anyway, the commericial was there. I only saw one. It was either late in the second half or at the start of half-time. Cute commercial (it was the one where the astronauts, Pointer sisters, ..., and Tip O'Neil come to ask Stevie for advice). Even one of my Mactribesman friends liked it. Jim

I was disappointed, because I didn't see the commmercial(s) wither. I watched til just before midnight on the east coast. If the commercials are all gonna show post-midnight EST then a lot of people are gonna miss 'em.

Nope, you both probably saw the same game, as did I. But alas, I was
in Chicago and there was no Amiga commercial that I could see.
Probably some difference in regional distribution.
It WAS a wild finish. And to think I almost turned it off 2 or 3 times.
The last 15 minutes were the most unbelievable football I've ever seen.
Also, has anyone seen ANYTHING about the Amiga commercials on Entertainment
Tonight? I've been recording them since last Wednesday and haven't seen
hide nor hair of it.

Well, according to Harry Copperman, who I guess knows as much about the campaign as anyone else :-), the campaign is going to concentrated on a few markets, like Boston and I guess New York, anywhere that there is a strong dealer network. Why they weren't in Chicago I don't know. But, the TV advertisements did look pretty good. The radio spots sounded okay too, and the print campaign looks equally good. I must say that I'm impressed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chuck Stern "Keep your feet on the ground, keep reaching for Prime Computer, Inc. the sky, pray for rain, keep the humor dry and 500 Old Connecticut Path keep eating those Powdermilk Biscuits" Framingham, MA 01701 cis@s41.Prime.COM /* I do not claim to even KNOW who speaks for Prime, much less claiming that I do so myself. */

I got only a glimpse of it while my TV was warming up. Then yesterday (tuesday) night I set the recorder on CBS and all I got was the Earthquake story. Tomi

I saw my first Commodore TV commercial on 10/16 at 10:30pm. While I was happy to see it, I was not greatly impressed with the focus or style of the commercial. I found myself being told, "This is a fun [read: game] machine." It never stayed on any one scene for more than a few seconds, so I had a very hard time getting a feel for the strengths the machine had that would want me to at least consider investigating it. I certainly came away with the feeling that it's only good for "fun" stuff, that it didn't do "serious" or "business" stuff. On the other hand, I have seen Commodore do much better magazine ads recently, particularly in mags such as "Music Educator Today" where they really did a decent job describing its potential in the Music Education field. Plus the mag has done reviews on the C64, C128, and Amiga line and said that the C64/128 were the best buys for the $$$ and ability, and that if you needed the best, get the Amiga except that there is very little software available for Music Education (a problem common to the Apples & Macs also). They panned the IBM PC line. Christopher Wroten Prime Computer Inc. 500 Old Connecticut Path Framingham, Ma. 01701 MS 10-21. Internet: CFW@S67.Prime.Com Voice: 508-879-2960 x4336 (7:30am-4pm EST)

I also saw in the most recent copy of Business Week an ENTIRE PARAGRAPH on the Amiga in an article about multimedia, including a quote from Dave Archambault. So, an bigger presence is coming, methinks, but I am _still_ not going to hold my breath. */

I saw my first one on MTV last night, just before Monty Pyton came on (midnight). It's the one where Stevie convinces friends in the next room that he's just won some rock mucic award. It's not obvious in the commercial that he's using an amiga to give the illusion that he is on a network tv show. I'd really like to see a series of ads in the same line as the print "case history" ads. They do a much better job of conveying what the amiga is all about. They aren't cute, silly, or try to hide the fact that the amiga is a computer, not simply a more powerful nintendo type of appliance. I'm trying to be nice. Really. The print ads require no apologies. They look like ads for a real computer company. --haL --------------- hgm@ccvr1.ncsu.edu "Oh dear, now I've made a terrible mess of things. netoprhm@ncsuvm.bitnet And all I wanted to do was rule the universe." Apologies, my editor sucks rocks here. Anyway, I feel exactly the
same. It seems that they scraped the bottom of the barrel for
celebrities when none at all were needed. Anyone besides myself seen
Tip O'Neil climbing out of a suit-case for Quality Inn? How about
everything from Coke to Bounce being done by the Pointer Sisters.
Apple has never used celebs and IMHO their commercials are the BEST
computer commercials out. Like I said previously, the "Case History"
video is excellent. Someone get segments of that on the air before its
too late!
