I have just downloaded a couple of rather large animation files: (NuHand and Coyote, from the BADGE Killer demos) They are both around 500k, Coyote might be a little larger. The problem that I have is that when I try to run them, my machine complains that it is out of memory, even though the title bar displays somewhere around 780K free (I have a plain 2000HD, with no special stuff started in the startup-sequence). Could somebody please explain to me why the animations won't run, is it something to do with chip ram, and fast ram differences. Another question: Where is my 1Meg going when I boot up, does somebody have a good explanation of what happens at boot up and how much memory is allocated to what. I guess this is more of a question of where is my memory, and why is it there? I know, I should buy some more memory, and I will, but 1meg is a lot, (ahh, the days of the 4k pet...but that's another story.) and I would like to know how it is internally partitioned at boot up.
