I came upon this request on PLINK and asked if the poster would mind it being posted here. I would prefer if you could answer either via his telephone number or his People Link ID "SCHILLER" but I will forward any replies you send me via email. ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Chicago Access Corporation is considering replacing its current broadcast dedicated interactive television channel (TV 42 CAN-CALL) with a system using Amiga computers. The channel is an information bulletin board where people with a touch tone phone can call in and request their favorite catagories to be shown on the channel. Then several pages of information (non-profit announ- cements and the like) scroll onto the screen in the catagory chosen for every- Press <return> for more one to see. The system we currently have is being taxed to its limit and we would like to expand its capabilities. The one stumbling block we've run into is trying to get the touch-tone codes translated and into the computer. I know the chip needed is available at Radio Shack and other hardware that does sim- ilar operations is available but we haven't yet found something that can be used in an Amiga system like the one we have in mind. We would like to know if someone out there knows of an available device that will decode touch-tone signals and return the ASCII values (with the possibility of also answering the phone with an Amiga digitized voice message.) Any input would be appreciated. If you have some ideas that could possibly help us in other areas of our system please let me know.
