Help! I've got a data communication problem I need some information and/or thoughts on ... I have three computers. One local and two across the street. I also have 4 sturdy wires between here and there that are (supposedly) DC continuous. I've got 6 usable ports on the local machine, 9 local terminals, and 8 ports each on the machines across the street. What I'm looking for is a switching mux (or equiv) that will allow port contention on the local machine and switching to the remote machines. Has anyone heard of such a product? We've evaluated a pair of DCC SM9200 switching muxes and are currently having trouble with them. I've heard that Timeplex also makes such a device but know nothing about them. The last constraint (of course) is cost. I'd like to keep the cost as close to $10,000.00 as possible. Any thoughts or soultions would be greeted with a hearty hurrah. Mail your questions or responses to me. Thank you. Paul Manno Medical Systems Development Corp (...decvax!duke!mcnc!msdc!paul)
