I have not followed all of the discussion of Amiga ads, so you may already know this. Commodore had a 2 page ad in the October issue of Academic Computing. It was the same format as the ads in Time, but it featured Howard Diamond (Commodore's head of the education program, identified also as former Asst Vice Chancellor, U. of Illinois) on one page and the Assoc Director Advanced Computing Center, Arts and Design,Ohio State. on the other. This journal covers computing in higher education, with a heavy emphasis on the non-scientific areas. I view this ad as a serious attempt to move into a market that is a natural for the Amiga. Diamond mentions a videotape about the Amiga in education, "significant discounts", and an 800 number. (This is the first time I have seen an ad for anything about the Amiga in Academic Computing.) Now, lets hope it does some good. Pat Palmer (email: ppalmer@oddjob.uchicago.edu)
