I just want to thank everyone who responded to my original posting for help with color bleeding in my titling. I took many of the suggestions and applied them. I purchased shielded RG59, gold tipped cables for the video connections, and gold-tipped audio cables for the audio. I also got back issues of Consumer Reports and a couple of Video magazines which evaluated consumer video tapes. I decided on the TDK EHG tape, as it got a 96/100 rating from CR and I found them for only $4.50 each (T120). There were 3 others that I purchased which are all close in the cost vs. performance battle. If anyone is interested, I'll post my findings on the best of the consumer video tapes. I also found out why I couldn't get any video signal from the CMI VI500 RCA composite output. I noticed a switch on my VCR which had to be set to EXTERNAL instead of the setting for normal cable TV reception (cannot recall the name of the switch or the three options). I recorded my scrolling titles to video, as well as my still titles and AniMagic transitions to the blank tape. When I play it back on my Amiga 2002 monitor, the result is wonderful. I still get a little halo from blue, even at 12 intensity. But it is only really noticeable when I take the tape to my VCR hooked up through Coax to my 26" TV. I can still read it from about 10 feet away. I am exceedingly pleased with the results. And the images with their transition from AniMagic are spectacular, with the color saturation more than I expected. Now all I have to do is take the tape to the Cross-Cut Film and Video Society (UF's local video club) editing room and assemble edit the pieces together. Once again, thanks to all of you who responded. Scott Sutherland sutherla@qtp.ufl.edu
