[comp.sys.amiga] Mail Order Recommendation

dean.steptoe@canremote.uucp (DEAN STEPTOE) (11/03/89)

I have ordered from BriWall. They are very good and quick (even to
Canada!). They're prices are low and usually the best around. I
ordered my HardFrame SCSI interface from them. Very good & reliable
service.

I have also tried Creative Computers in California. They are all right,
although it took 6 weeks for one of thier packages to get here (it was
on back order, they said, so I forgive them) and the other only took
about 2 weeks. They were both software items. I think that both these
places are very good, they should be checked out!

I've dealt with Abel exclusively for over 2 years now. They have never screwed
me over, although sometimes it takes a while to arrive (worst case: 1 month for
TxEd, which may have been because Txed was in midst of an upgrade).
I have noticed that their response time has improved a bit in the last year.

They do have the best prices I've seen anywhere. And their catalog does make
a good comparison shopping sheet, simply because they carry so much stuff.

I have no connections with Abel Supply, other than being a satisfied
customer.

I seriously disrecommend Creative Computers. Although they have great
prices and a nifty newsletter, their delivery service is horrid. Twice
I made next-day Fed Ex orders from them, and neither time did the
product arrive within the week. I mean, sure it was next-day-shipping,
but the day after which it arrived was considerably later than the day I
ordered it, if you follow the wry joke. One one occasion, they
accidentally "forgot" to ship my order on the right day... interesting
interpretation of the meaning "overnight".
