I just purchased Gauntlet II for my Amiga 1000 and after waiting 14 minutes for the thing to load, I started asking questions. I had my dealer check out my disk drive as it may have been out of alignment. The drive checked out fine. I then tried it on a friends 1000 and it loaded in about 2 minutes!!! Now what is up here???? The only difference between mine and his is the fact that I have a Megabyte on my Spirit board... no, couldn't be..... Called Mindscape and got it straight from the from them. "Gauntlet II will not work on an Amiga 1000 with a Spirit board"!!!!! I just wonder what kind of fancy copy protections they use. They already have me look up a word in their stupid manual. Isn't that enough? The disk is not a DOS disk, so no way to copy it (for backup purposes). Well, they offered to trade me for another game. No thanks, I'll trade it for a game from another company. Chaulk that one up for a company screwing themselves. They put so much copy protection on the game that it won't even load on some machines. Hey, come to think of it, that will keep the game from getting pirated, right?!?!?!?!? Snicker,snicker,snicker... -- _____________________________________________________________________________ ____ ____ ___ Earle Ake /___ /___/ / / Science Applications International Corporation ____// / / /__ Dayton, Ohio ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Internet: fac2@Dayton.SAIC.COM uucp: uunet!dayvb!fac2
