In July of last year I received a note from Beatrice Bayley that the BUDD FAMILY HERITAGE BOOK was about to be published on Auguest 11. It is interesting that the BUDD name is rare, also, in fact the statistics are the same! (about one BUDD family for every quarter million Americans). In spite of the warning that because of this rarity THERE WILL BE ONLY ONE EDITION, I didn't buy the book. I think it's a sham. At best, you will have a list of people in the us who have the same last name (taken from phone books and the like) plus some general words on where the name came from (which you could find in any good library). (Did you know the name BUDD is a very old english name? Pre-conquest in fact. No, you didn't know that? What's that you say? you didn't care to know it? oh well). --tim budd ({purdue | ucbvax | utah-cs} | arizona | budd)
