[comp.sys.amiga] Populous Questions

baalke@mars.jpl.nasa.gov (Ron Baalke) (11/14/89)

I have the following Populous questions:
o What is the most effective way of killing a knight?
o Has anyone seen the wizard on the flying carpet? What does he do?
o I think I've noticed that my walkers disappear when they walk into a
burnt house ravaged by a knight. Has anyone else noticed this?

Has anyone had success loading an alternate world via the conquest
menu? I followed the instructions that came with the disk carefully
but I only get a response if I enter GENESIS and then it loads the
French Revolution. Is there a certain level I must attain before I
can use the other worlds disk?

The best way is probably to send a knight of your own with superior
stats (a higher bar on the left of the shield).
     Other alternate ways are:
     1) Build up your leader to full stats and send him to meet the
        knight.
     2) If you can, swamp him in his own territory. If you're lucky,
a swamp square will appear under him. If not, he will usually
        be delayed.
     3) If water is fatal, dig a hole around him (down to water level).

He is a druid...all he does is create trees in his path. However,
if his path goes through one of your castles, it will be destroyed.
There is also a swamp monster that you may want to look out for.
he goes diagonally across the world leaving swamp behind.

I haven't seen this happen. They are probably just dying there.
Remember that you have to raise and lower the land to make it inhabitable
by your people.
