[ From the Saturday morning San Jose Mercury News, page 15F ] Commodore Business Machines of West Chester, Pa., said Friday that it was slashing prices 10 percent to 15 percent on its Amiga 2000 computer line. The suggested retail price of the Amiga 2000 has been cut to $1899 from $2195. The price of the Amiga 2500/20 has been cut 15 percent to $3999. Commodore suffered back-to-back losses in its last two quarters as sales of its oldest computer line, the C64/128, slackened. The company plans to introduce a new version of the Amiga 2500 next week at the Comdex show in Las Vegas. ---- So now it looks like the official name for an A2000 + 68020 + HD = A2500/20 and the name for an A2000 + 68030 + HD = A2500/30. -- Joe Smith (408)922-6220 | SMTP: JMS@F74.TYMNET.COM or jms@gemini.tymnet.com McDonnell Douglas FSCO | UUCP: ...!{ames,pyramid}!oliveb!tymix!tardis!jms PO Box 49019, MS-D21 | PDP-10 support: My car's license plate is "POPJ P," San Jose, CA 95161-9019 | narrator.device: "I didn't say that, my Amiga did!"

What about the stock that dealers have on their shelves? Do they get credit/refunds/etc when prices change like this? I've been told that Commodore didn't do that with their PC line a bit ago, and it ruffled many feathers. Will it be different this time? -Tom I would appreciate mail, but postings fine. Any News of them cutting prices on the 2090A controller. I sure would like to purchase one but they are a little too expensive for my blood... Richard Casebolt 205-544-2966
