You should *NOT* have to change the drive ID jumper on the new drive.  
The cable should have a "twisted" section between the two connectors for 
the drives that automatically handles the drive ID change for you.  Both 
should be jumpered identically. (Even though some CBM documentation says 
otherwise!)
 
And beware of the connector at the motherboard end of the cable.  One 
pin is cut from the board and is used as a key in the plug. YOU DIDN'T 
BREAK IT OFF!
