I did say "loaded" up there didn't I?--To me, an HD is essential in a
laptop that is going to be used as more than a notebook. Floppies can get
too slow and since a lot off lap machines have only 1 3.5 inch drive, it
means having to do the floppy disk shuffle..a dance step I am not too fond of.

Okay, but if you look at the MacWeek from 10/17/89, on the front page there
is an article in the bottom left corner titled "Mouse trails behind
portable" which explains why users and dealers are finding a mouse-shaped
coupon redeemable for 1 mouse in MacPortable boxes(FCC problems is the
stated reason) and advises of an 8-10 week delay.

I wouldn't say I've seen any *ENTIRELY* negative reports/reviews, just that
the praise its been getting for being an advanced, powerful, etc. machine
appears to be equally weighted by the "Why Couldn't it be
smaller|lighter|cheaper" remarks.
(Again, see issues of MacWeek at the time of announcement and the November
 MacUser).
