Floppies can get too slow and since a lot off lap machines have only 1 3.5 inch drive, it means having to do the floppy disk shuffle..a dance step I am not too fond of. >> C. Okay, but if you look at the MacWeek from 10/17/89, on the front page there is an article in the bottom left corner titled "Mouse trails behind portable" which explains why users and dealers are finding a mouse-shaped coupon redeemable for 1 mouse in MacPortable boxes(FCC problems is the stated reason) and advises of an 8-10 week delay. >> D.Its only an SE thats inside the box, which is basically a machine from >=> ca. 1986, even before the Mac II came out. > >The Macintosh Portable is twice as fast as an SE and has a screen almost >as large as a 13" Mac II screen (the Portable is 640x400 and the std >screen is 640x480). => >> E. I wouldn't say I've seen any *ENTIRELY* negative reports/reviews, just that the praise its been getting for being an advanced, powerful, etc. machine appears to be equally weighted by the "Why Couldn't it be smaller|lighter|cheaper" remarks.
