I just recently upgraded my version of ProWrite 2.0 to ProWrite 2.5. The new disks come with different printer drivers than I had before and I'm not sure how to set them up because the upgrade had no new printer documentation along with it, either on disk or paper. I have a Star Nx-1000 printer which is supposed to be Epson compatible. The new disks also came with a new printer.device. The new printer.device doesn't work with the old drivers and vice-versa. What has changed? In the old version, I just chose the EpsonX driver in my Preferences, set the density to the higher version allowed and things worked. Now I see that there are two versions of Epson drivers in this new release. One called EpsonXOld and the other called EpsonX[CBM-1250]. What are the differences between these? By trial and error I have setting that work, although I don't know why. I would appreciate if someone could explain what happened between 2.0 and 2.5. Thanks, Eric Stern

It sounds like you went from Workbench 1.2 to Workbench 1.3 when you got the upgrade to ProWrite 2.5. Workbench 1.3 has new printer drivers with new features. They are documented in the 1.3 Enhancer manual. The recommended driver for the Star NX-1000 is the EpsonX[CBM-1250]. Here's what the density settings (on the Graphic 2 screen) mean: Density XDPI YDPI XYDPI Comments 1 120 72 8640 2 120 144 17280 Performs two passes 3 240 72 17280 Can't print two dots in a row.
